She wore the necklace just once, but the Swan Lake necklace is one of her most iconic pieces. Diana, Princess of Wales wore the necklace to the English National Ballet on 3 June 1997, a mere two months before her death. The necklace is speculated to be worth £9.5 million.

She never got a chance to wear the earrings that matched the necklace, as they were not completed before her death. A statement on the auction house’s website reads, “The earrings were, indeed, completed and the full suite about to be returned to the princess when she was tragically killed. Following her death – and with the acknowledgement of her grieving family – the jewels were sold.”
