The Grand Duchess of Luxembourg’s Chaumet Choker Tiara came into the possession of the Grand Ducal family of Luxembourg sometime in the early 1980s.

During those first years of the 1980s, the tiara was worn by Grand Duchess Joséphine-Charlotte, her daughter-in-law, Maria Teresa and her daughter, Princess Margaretha. It can be worn with or without pearls. Before it was bought by the Grand Ducal family, it was reportedly topped with sapphires.

It can also be worn as a choker necklace, and in this setting, the pearl and diamond toppers are removed.

Maria Teresa’s daughter-in-law, Stéphanie, has also worn the tiara in its full setting, but her daughter, Princess Alexandra,  has worn the tiara the most in recent years.

Most notably, Princess Alexandra wore the tiara, without the pearl, for her wedding to Nicolas Bagory.1
