The Diamond Festoon Tiara was a present for Princess Anne from the World Wide Shipping Group. She had launched their tanker “World Unicorn” in May 1973.

It was probably created in the early 20th century.

Anne first wore the tiara for a series of portraits made by Lord Lichfield in honour of her 23rd birthday. She also chose to wear it for a series of photographs taken by Norman Parkinson with her future husband, Mark Phillips.

In 2009, Princess Anne loaned the tiara to her future daughter-in-law, Autumn.
