Queen Mary of Denmark appeared at the celebrations for King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden’s 80th birthday in a new tiara.

The tiara was originally a bracelet called the Queen Louise’s Diamond Floral Bracelet, which belongs to the Danish Royal Property Trust.

The official website described it as follows: “The bracelet is segmented with a rosette-shaped centre section, surrounded by delicate flowers and leaves, all made of diamonds, set in gold and silver.”

The bracelet was a wedding present to Princess Louise of the Netherlands from King Oscar I and Queen Josephine of Sweden when she married their son, the future King Charles XV. The bracelet was passed to their only child, Princess Louise of Sweden, who married the future King Frederick VIII of Denmark. She transferred the property of the bracelet to the Danish Royal Property Trust.

Queen Mary had the bracelet attached to a tiara frame.
