When Mabel Wisse Smit married Prince Friso of the Netherlands1, she did so wearing a tiara with diamonds in three cascading rows.

The tiara was made by Mellerio and was purchased by the royal family in April 1888, during the reign of King William III of the Netherlands. It was originally a necklace with both brown and white diamonds. The large white diamonds are also used for the Dutch Sapphire Parure Tiara.2

Both Queen Maxima and Princess Margriet have worn it as well, although Mabel has been its primary wearer.
