Counting down to 17 July 1918 when the family was murdered.

On 10 July 1918, the Bolshoy Theatre in Moscow was packed with people for the ratification of the newly composed Constitution of the Russian Socialist Federated Soviet Republic. Lenin’s government had prepared for over six months and were now ready to unveil a constitution that was “to give expression…. to the hopes of the workers, the peasants and the oppressed and to abolish political and economic inequality once and for all.”1

At the Ipatiev House, Alexandra was suffering from a lot of pain in her back and legs. She had gone into the garden for an hour and a half with the others to enjoy the sun.2
