The decision has been made to exhume the remains of Tsar Alexander III for DNA testing. Alexander III was the father of Nicolas II. This is part of the investigation into the remains of Tsarevich Alexei and Grand Duchess Maria. The exhumation is expected to happen mid-November. There is also a possibility of an exhumation for Grand Duchess Elizabeth Feodorovna, who was murdered in 1918 and is now buried in Jerusalem.

Alexander III’s grave has never been disturbed, and it is thus certain that the remains are truly those of Alexander III, this will help with the DNA testing.
