Castle de Haar

So, Castle de Haar does not technically involve royalty. It dates back to 1391 and was rebuilt and remodelled over the years. It was at one point owned by a Baron van Zuylen van Nyevelt van de Haar, who was married to Baroness Hèlène de Rothschild. It is still owned by the Van Zuylen van Nyevelt family, and even though the castle is currently owned by a foundation, they have reserved the right to stay in the castle for a month each year. So, I took a night tour of the castle. Unfortunately, it was not allowed to film inside the castle, but it’s still pretty impressive from the outside. On the way out, some letters and logbooks were displayed, and I even spotted a ‘Prince & Princess Alexandre de Y’ on the guest list.
